I live in a part of Canada that can give us a stretch of plus 5C for a week in January and then hit us down the very next day with -35C weather with a wind chill that makes it feel like -45C!! I also live in a part of Canada where we can enjoy beautiful blue skies and sunshine most days all year long. My mom lives in the Okanogan valley in B.C. and doesn’t see the sun for most of the winter. As she says when she happens to hit a cold spell when she comes to visit in February, “I don’t see the sun for most of the winter and you are very lucky to be able to wake up to blue skies and sunshine almost every day. I can dress for -35C.” This is very true…..not always something I jump to as I’m heading outside to start my car after work on a windy, bitterly cold day…..but true none the same. lol.
Another thing that our beautiful prairies gives us on a regular basis are the mosst beautiful sunsets that can last an hour before the sun finally goes down. We were just that lucky this evening coming home from the cabin. We were given a gorgeous sunset for about an hour as it varied in intensity until the sun vanished behind the horizon. I tried to take some pics while we were driving….and no…..I wasn’t the one driving!! lol. I thought I’d share with you a very special part of my little slice of Saskatchewan.
I love our sunsets……
