Who You Are…

I’ve had a busy week of I’m not sure what!!!  I haven’t been down in my studio since last week and I’m here to play along with Sandee over on the Frosted Designs Facebook group again for her weekly Sunday with Sandee.  This week she was mixing sprays to make more of a pastel color using a white linen spray and some ordinary colored sprays.  I didn’t have a completely white spray so I decided to use some white acrylic paint and a few of my Tim Holtz Distress Ink refills.  I used Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry.  For the main sprays on the page I used some of my trusted Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays of Luscious Lime, Hibiscus Rose, Caribbean Blue, Mango Mania and Pineapple Paradise.  I started by spraying the top corner with some of the Mango Mania and Pineapple Paradise, letting it run together a bit and then heat setting it.  I took a small round lid from a spray can and covered up a portion of that area to use as the sun for my final project.  I then alternately sprayed with my other Lindy’s sprays and the mixed ones I did all over the page and used one of my homemade stencils of the honeycomb.  I heat set between coats and added some of the Pineapple Paradise from time to time to fill in and help to blend the colors.  Once all my spraying was done I lifted the cap I’d put down and Ta Daaaa……a sun!!  I took my molding paste and a cloud stencil my Mom found for me at her local Dollar Store and made some clouds over the sun and sky and I didn’t have a leaf stencil so I took a piece of plastic packing I’d saved and actually cut out a leaf design to use as a stencil.  I lightly sketched a branch out in pencil and added the stenciled leaves to the page.  I used my Gun Metal Liquid Pearls and filled in the branch and outlined the leaves.  I cut some white butterflies out from a piece of patterned paper and added some color using my water brush and my Lindy’s Caribbean Blue and Hibiscus Rose.  Added some doodles (dangles) and the quote!

I found the quote while surfing the internet the other evening and can’t remember where I found it.  The lettering I hand wrote.  I added some Goosebumps for some texture to the butterflies.

And that’s it!! Have a most wonderful day and thank you ever so much for taking the time to stop in.

About mycraftingtherapyroom

My name is Yvonne Gebauer and I'm a cardmaker and have just entered the amazing world of Mixed Media and am LOVING it!. I'm a wife, a mother to two grown boys, and a grandmother to 5 amazingly beautiful grandchildren which I have to say is really all it's cracked up to be and more. I work full time and am really starting to think that work is getting in the way of life!! I have a large crafting room and I'm my happiest when I have a group of friends get together in this room and just have a blast. Every once in a while we actually create something! Or, when I get a chance to have one of my grandchildren over to just let them play and create what they want with what I have in my stash.....which is allot. My craft room is my therapy room of sorts. My place to go and just be......
